Socioeconomic Impacts in South Dakota

The BLM's management of public lands in South Dakota supported about 140 jobs in Fiscal Year 2010.  Most of the jobs were related to oil and gas, and recreation.  Oil and gas-related impacts amounted to $11.4 million, while recreation amounted to about $3.5 million.  The overall BLM economic impact was about $22.4 million.  This table provides employment and economic output by category.  Economic output data are in millions of dollars.
