Socioeconomic Impacts in South Dakota

The BLM's management of public lands in South Dakota supported about 485 jobs in Fiscal Year 2011.  Most of the jobs were related to oil and gas, and grazing.  Oil and gas-related impacts amounted to $34.5 million, while grazing amounted to about $13.2 million.  The overall BLM economic impact was about $51 million.  This table provides employment and economic output by category.  Economic output data are in millions of dollars.
