Both events and their subsequent history are integral to the chronicles of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The Homestead Act web page features an interactive time line and videos on homesteads in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, and New Mexico, as well as interviews with the BLM’s homesteading expert, Dr. Robert King, BLM Alaska Deputy Preservation Officer: The GLO web page includes videos featuring a tour of today’s GLO and surveyors, in addition to the GLO timeline: www.blm.gov/es/st/en/prog/glo.html. All BLM offices are encouraged to create links to these web pages as appropriate and to provide information about upcoming State commemoration events on their respective State Office web pages.
