Subject: Availability of “From Childhood Exploration to Conservation Leadership: An Update on BLM Education, Engagement, and Youth Employment Programs”
The Division of Education, Interpretation, and Partnerships is pleased to provide a copy of “From Childhood Exploration to Conservation Leadership: An Update on BLM Education, Engagement, and Youth Employment Programs.” This publication presents an overview of BLM accomplishments in the areas of education, interpretation, and youth involvement, as well as Fiscal Year 2010 statistics on youth education, engagement, and employment projects, as reported by State and Field Offices.
The update highlights outstanding education and engagement programs for students, “lifetime learners,” and the general public, demonstrating BLM’s commitment to bringing our programs to expanding and increasingly diverse audiences. In addition, profiles of youth employment projects emphasize the important role that young people are playing in the management of public land resources. Working with a wide range of partners, BLM is truly creating the “next generation of conservation leaders.”
Additional printed copies are available free of charge from BLM’s Printed Materials Distribution Services (PMDS). If you wish to obtain printed copies, please ask your office Forms Manager to place an order for you. The PMDS item number assigned to the report is EE9-010A. Offices are encouraged to distribute copies to program managers, volunteers, partner organizations, community leaders, and others. The report is currently online at http://web.blm.gov/wo-170/wo-172/wo172_ee/reports/reports.html (internal).
We extend our thanks to the many BLM employees who contributed to the production and design of this report. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Betsy Wooster of the Division of Education, Interpretation, and Partnerships at (202) 912-7454 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
