EMS TRANSMISSION 06/01/2006 Information Bulletin No. 2006-093 To: All State Directors Attention: State Fisheries, Wildlife and Recreation Program Leads From: Assistant Director, Renewable Resources and Planning Subject: National Fishing and Boating Week 2006 DD: 08/31/2006 The 2006 National Fishing and Boating Week (NFBW) celebration will be observed Saturday, June 3 through Sunday, June 11, 2006. This annual, nationwide celebration provides an opportunity for communities and public and private partners to sponsor events that promote boating and fishing participation and inform the public about the importance of aquatic stewardship. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) supports this effort and I encourage all State and Field offices to host or participate in the NFBW events. Please send photos and descriptions of your NFBW events (partner names, number of participants, etc.) by August 31, 2006, to Richard Bulavinetz, Fish, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (WO-230), to be included in the 2006 National Fishing and Boating Week Report. In 2005, the BLM sponsored more than twenty-five NFBW events in which a total of over 8,000 people participated. Attached is a copy of the NFBW 2005 Report, which can also be viewed at: http://www.blm.gov/wildlife/fish/Fish_Week_Report_2005.pdf.
