Subject:       Updating List of Approved Herbicide Formulations and Adjuvants

 

Attached is an updated list of herbicide formulations and adjuvants approved for use on BLM administered lands. Five formulations, representing 4 BLM approved active ingredients, and 21 adjuvants have been added to the respective lists. Continued emphasis is placed on the correct application of herbicides. Consult the applicable EIS’s for your area when considering the use of a particular active ingredient. The attached herbicide table identifies the specific active ingredients that may be used in each state. The information in the table is based upon the Records of Decision (ROD) that have been issued as well as the applicable court injunction restricting uses in the state of Oregon. The EISs that support these RODs included: 1) Northwestern Area Noxious Weed Control Program, 2) California Vegetation Management, 3) Vegetation Treatment on BLM Lands in Thirteen Western States, and 4) Western Oregon Program-Management of Competing Vegetation. 

 

The attached updated list of approved herbicide formulations and adjuvants provides information that will assist in the correct application of herbicides and adjuvants on public lands. The manufacturer and EPA registration number is provided to assist in the preparation of the Pesticide Use Proposal. In addition, information is presented identifying whether or not a particular formulation has a California registration number which is required for use of the herbicide in that state.

 

Regarding the adjuvants approved for use on BLM administered lands, refer to the herbicide label and identify which type of adjuvant is required with the particular formulation, i.e., non-ionic surfactant, crop oil concentrate, deposition agent, etc., then refer to the attached list to identify which one is approved.
