The purpose of this bulletin is to request the Bureau of Land Management nominations for two Department of the Interior Safety Awards for 2006. The two categories are:

 

Professional Service Award

 

Recognizes an individual, group, bureau, office, or organizational unit which has performed an outstanding service for, or made a contribution of unusual value to the Department’s Safety and Occupational Health Program (see attached form for more detailed information).

 

Recognizes a safety professional (series 0018, 0690, 0803) who has demonstrated sustained accomplishments in injury, illness, and accident prevention and who has contributed quality service to his/her bureau, office, or the Department during his/her career.

Your nominations should be submitted by December 15, 2005, to Sandy Guches, Bureau Safety Manager (WO-740). The nominations will be reviewed and selections made by the DOI Safety Council.
