Thanks to all of those contestants who participated in the 10th Annual Utah Wild Horse & Burro Festival.  This year we had 75 Rider/Horse contestants which is up from 55 in 2007.  Competitors traveled as far as Michigan to compete in the festival. 

For the first time, we are posting points.  Please remember that these are points and not placings.  The point system is calculated on a sliding 6 point scale.  For example: Six or more contestants in a class - 1st=6pts, 2nd=5pts, 3rd=4pts, 4th=3pts, 5th=2pts, and 6th=1pt.  If there are three people in a class; the points are as follows: 1st=3pts, 2nd=2pts, and 3rd=1pt.

Also, the festival had the pleasure of working with four great local photographers.  The Bureau of Land Management, Wild Horse & Burro Program have signed release forms from each contestant so that the BLM may use the photos taken by the photographers.  The festival committee would like to encourage the contestants to help support the photographers.  The photographers donate their time and energy so that great photos can be taken of each rider/horse team in order to promote the Utah Wild Horse & Burro Festival and the Wild Horse & Burro Program.  For more information on the photographers, please visit their web-sites at:  Ann Torrence Photography (www.anntorrence.com), Erika Haight Photography (www.erikahaightphotography.com), Lucy Knorr (www.EquuSmile.com), and Monica Nielson (www.countryscapes.net).
