Summary: Gathered 5 studs, 11 mares and 6 foals.  All of the horses gathered today were shipped to the Salt Lake Wild Horse and Burro Center at approximately 5p.m. One stud is being kept in holding for a turn-back.

Summary: Gathered 12 studs, 18 mares and 6 foals.  All of the animals brought in were from the perimeters of the HMA.  We did bring in one older stallion, 20+ years, later in the day whose body condition was 1-2 on the Henneke Scale.  He was evaluated by the APHIS veterinarian and we have decided to release him.

Summary: Gathered 12 studs, 10 mares, and 7 foals; all are at 2 to 4 on the Henneke Scale.  These horses from today's gather on the northern end of the HMA were not in as good of a condition as those we had been gathering to date.

The 4-5 month orphaned foal that was brought in yesterday is doing well at the Salt Lake City facility.

Summary: Operations on the Conger HMA have concluded.  On Sept. 11, the trap will be moved from the Conger location to Confusion Mountain in preparation for next week.  Operations on the Confusion Mountain HMA will begin Monday morning, Sept. 13.

Cause: One horse that was 15+ years of age was humanely euthanized after inspection by the on-site veterinarian.  The horse had a pre-existing condition of severe arthritis in the carpal joint and fetlock in the left front leg.

Summary: 14 studs, 16 mares and 9 foals brought in today. Gather operations were shut down at 11:00 a.m. due to erratic winds and gusts up to 30+ mph. Operations will resume Thursday morning.

Cause: One stud was humanely euthanized by the on-site veterinarian. The horse had an old injury that resulted in chronic infection and osteoarthritis of the right hind fetlock.
