Collecting, researching and surveying archaeological resources on BLM-administered lands requires a cultural resource permit that must be obtained from the BLM Lead Archaeologist at the Utah State Office in Salt Lake City.

BLM Data Standards, May 2012 - Data Standards (pdf)

In an effort to establish a standard for the quality and format of digital data, the Utah BLM has created a set of standards to be followed when conducting archaeological investigations on BLM lands. The standards address various aspects of data acquisition and data submission with the intent of reducing confusion and creating consistency among archeologists working throughout the state. The Utah BLM Data Standards, May 2012 is a final draft and is effective immediately.
