BLM Seeks Public Comment on Proposed February 2014 Oil and Gas Lease Sale


Monticello, Utah—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Canyon Country District announces that the public scoping period for the proposed February 2014 oil and gas lease sale will run until August 9, 2013.
 
The purpose of the public scoping process is to determine relevant issues that should be addressed and analyzed in the environmental assessment (EA) that will be prepared for the February 2014 oil and gas lease sale. The proposed parcel list is available for review at both the Monticello Field Office and the Moab Field Office (see addresses below) and online at: http://www.blm.gov/ut/st/en/fo/monticello.html.
 
Written comments will be accepted throughout the public scoping period, which closes on
August 9, 2013. Please note that the most useful comments are those that identify issues relevant to the proposed action.  Comments which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response, but may be considered in the BLM planning process. Please reference the "February 2014 Oil and Gas Lease Sale" when submitting comments.
