Salt Lake City, Utah—March 18, 2008—The Salt Lake Regional Horse Center managed by the BLM is offering free wild horse manure to the public, nurseries, parks or neighborhood gardens.

Horse manure, when composted, contains valuable fertilizer elements like carbon and nitrogen.  Some manure stockpiles have been sitting for over a year, shrunken from decomposition and moisture loss.  Wild horses and burros managed at the center are fed certified weed free hay.

The Salt Lake Regional Horse Center is located at 8605 West Butterfield Canyon Road (126000 South) Herriman, Utah, the horse center is open to the public Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm.  Staff will assist in loading manure.
