Browns Park ACEC

The Browns Park Complex has outstanding ACEC values.

The scenery of Browns Park combines dark red canyon walls with green deciduous riparian vegetation, white-water rapids and deep quiet fishing holes.

It is inhabited by critical deer winter range due to the strategic location on the north slope of the Unita Mountains. The habitat area is excellent for special species such as the bald eagle, peregrine falcon, Colorado cuttroat trout, river otter, and the Ute ladies' tresses (creamy ladies' tresses) plant species.

Visitors come from around the world to fish at this nationally ranked Class I trout fishery.

The area has high cultural values associated with the Little Hole area.
