Programmatic Wildland Fire Emergency Stabilization and Rehabilitation Plan and Environmental Assessment
The St. George Field Office proposes to conduct wildland fire emergency stabilization and rehabilitation actions on public lands in accordance with management directions contained in the Programmatic Wildland Fire Emergency Stabilization and Rehabilitation (ESR) Plan
. The planning area is comprised of approximately 630,000 acres of public land and includes 10 designated Areas of Critical Environmental Concern, portions of the Beaver Dam Mountains Wilderness, and 11 Wilderness Study Areas. Critical habit for several federally-listed plant and animal species has been designated in the planning area and public lands here preserve significant cultural and paleontological resources. The
Environmental Assessment discloses the potential impacts to the special management areas, sensitive resources, and other public land values that could result from implementation of the proposed ESR Plan or alternatives.
