Dear Interested Public:

The Virgin River Comprehensive Management Plan and Environmental Assessment is now ready for your review and comment. This plan was prepared jointly by the National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management. The plan provides guidance for segments of the Virgin River designated as part of the National Wild and Scenic River System in 2009. The plan outlines how Zion National Park and the St. George Field Office will manage visitor use, construction and maintenance activities, protection and enhancement of river values, and other management aspects related to the river corridor.

We are asking for your comments on the plan. The best way to provide feedback is to view the plan on-line and provide comments there. The url is: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?projectID=32068. You may also send your comments to: Zion National Park, Attn: Virgin River CMP/EA, Springdale, UT 84767. The public comment period is open from July 29 through September 9, 2013. Your comments are most helpful if received by then.

A limited number of CDs are available by request at zion_park_information@nps.gov. Please be sure to provide your name and your complete mailing address in the email request.

You can also participate in the planning process by attending one of the public meetings for the Virgin River CMP/EA.
