Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009
On March 30, 2009, the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 was signed into law. The act, which designated two million acres of wilderness in nine states and more than 1,000 miles of Wild and Scenic River segments, also brought significant changes to the BLM–St. George Field Office. These changes clarify and broaden BLM Utah’s land management responsibilities, endorse appropriate use of public lands, and promote the continued stewardship of valuable resources in the Color Country District.
