Upper Beaver Dam Wash ACEC
This 33,063 acre area is located in northwest Washington County adjacent to the Dixie National Forest on the Utah/Nevada state line. It maintains unusually good water quality throughout its upper reaches, supports both warm and cold water fisheries, maintains an exceptionally high quality riparian system, and constitutes potential habitat for the Virgin Spinedace Minnow (conservation species) and the endangered Southwestern Willow Flycatcher. Resources are at risk from potential mining development, increased outdoor recreation use, and human encroachment.
