Notom Road and Burr Trail

Notom Road and Burr Trail

The Notom road segment parallels the Waterpocket Fold and provides an excellent opportunity to view the magnitude of this colorful and desolate rock spine. East of the backway are expansive views of the Henry Mountains and Mancos Mesas foothills. The Burr Trail road crosses softly rolling mancos hills, and then follows a deeply incised canyon to Lake Powell.

Notom Road leads from Utah Highway 24 at the eastern boundary of Capitol Reef National Park to the junction of Burr Trail Road. The Burr Trail runs south to Bullfrog on Lake Powell.
