Capitol Reef Country
This scenic Byway (Utah Highway 24) runs between the towns of Loa and Hanksville. Along the way, the route passes through rolling sagebrush desert, the red gate cliffs at Torrey, and then passes through Capitol Reef National Park. On the eastern side of the Park, the route follows the Fremont River for a way, winding through multi-hued bentonite hills, then through the stark beauty of the Mancos shale badlands, Factory Butte, Skyline Rim, Steamboat Point and the Caineville Mesas to end at Hanksville.
