Central Utah Interagency Fire LogoSince August 2000 and the start of the  National Fire Plan, the Richfield Field Office has worked diligently to keep pace with the region's needs, augmented by its growing wildland urban interface. Still, issues such as the recent trends in home building and subdivision growth, resource concerns, along with the ever-increasing number of acres consumed by wildfires each successive season, bring concerns for fire managers and experts.

In light of these concerns, the Richfield Field Office has successfully met the region's fire suppression and mitigation needs, due in part to cooperative efforts. Not only does the Richfield Office partner with neighboring BLM offices, it also joins its fire resources with other state and federal agencies. The Central Utah Interagency Management Group is just one example of the Richfield Office's cooperative fire suppression and mitigation efforts. The Central Utah Interagency Management Group consists of interagency fire partners throughout Central Utah.  Agencies include the BLM, Forest Service, and Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. These agencies combine resources which come together at the Richfield Interagency Fire Center and are dispatched throughout Central Utah.
