Fire Suppression

2002 Diamond Creek Fire, Price Field OfficeThe three field office areas encompassing the CCFZ average 100 wildland fires each year, most occurring in the eastern portion of the field offices.  The CCFZ initiates an “appropriate management response” (AMR) for a wildland fire which provides specific direction for achieving fire management objectives such as firefighter and public safety, resource values to be protected, minimized suppression costs, and/or potential resource benefits.  An AMR can range from full suppression of a wildland fire to managing the fire for resource benefit (wildland fire use).  For more information on the fire program and for current fire updates visit the Utah Fire Information website.
