Sand Island Campground


Sand Island Campground is located on the north bank of the San Juan River about 3 miles west of Bluff, Utah, on the south side of Highway 191.

  • Elevation: 4300 feet
  • Open year round
  • Fee: $15 per campsite per night (2 car maximum)
  • 25 campsites
  • Campsites are "first come, first served" and self-register

Sand Island Campground in AutumnGroup Campsite Reservations: There are two reservable group campsites at Sand Island. Group Site A is located near the boat ramp and features picnic tables, a fire grate, and a shade structure.  The site may be reserved in advance for groups of 15 to 20 people for a maximum of three days.  It may not be reserved on any holiday weekend during the river floating season (March through October).  Group Site B is located in Loop B of the campground and features picnic tables, a fire grate, a shade structure, and a single vault toilet. The site may be reserved in advance for groups of 15 to 40 people for a maximum of three days. The fee to reserve the group sites per night is $25 plus $4 per person.  Payment is due at the time the reservation is made.  Call (435) 587-1504 to make a reservation. 

Campsites #1 through #5 are no longer reservable as a group site.
