How to Get There: The Lone Mesa Group Campsites are located approximately 17 miles northwest of Moab, Utah. From Moab, travel north on U. S. Highway 191 to the intersection with Utah Highway 313. Turn west on Utah Highway 313 and go eight miles. Turn right on a graded road and go approximately 200 yards to the entrance of the Lone Mesa Camping Area.
Facilities: There are five group sites at Lone Mesa. Each site has wood shade shelter, an upright fire grill, a metal fire ring and four picnic tables; three wooden-surround vault toilets are shared by the sites. A trash dumpster is located at the campground. Drinking water is not available at the sites, however it is available at Lions Park, which is at the intersection of Highways 191 and 128 two miles north of Moab. The water is located by the pedestrian bridge dedication plaque.
Site Size: Sizes of the group sites vary. Lone Mesa A , B and E accommodate up to 30 campers; Lone Mesa C accommodates up to 40 people; Lone Mesa D accommodates up to 20 people. The minimum group size for each of the sites (except for D) is 15 people. Group Site D has a minimum group size of 10 people. There is ample parking at each of the group sites for even the largest vehicles.
Fees: The fee for group camping is $3.00 per person per night. There is a $15.00 reservation fee. Any changes to the location or date of a group site reservation will require an additional $15.00 fee. You must pay for the minimum number of people listed for the site you are reserving.
