Moab Field Office Draft Resource Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement

Colorado River along Highway 128

The DRMP/DEIS was released to the public August 25, 2007.  It presented four alternatives which took into consideration scoping comments received by other governmental agencies, public organizations, state, tribal entities and interested individuals. Public collaboration through the scoping process led to shaping of issues covering travel management, recreation, special designations, non-WSA lands with wilderness characteristics, minerals and other topics. The DRMP/DEIS analyzed alternatives to resolve management issues and determined management objectives and actions for BLM lands in the planning area.

During the 90-day public comment period which ended November 30, 2007, public meetings were held to introduce the document and to collect public comments. Meetings were held in Moab, Monticello and Salt Lake City, Utah, and in Grand Junction, Colorado.
