Moab Master Leasing Plan Open House
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah Canyon Country District Office will host an open house on May 14, 2014 to provide information about the Moab Master Leasing Plan process and give an update on the status of the preliminary range of alternatives. At the open house, the BLM will have a selection of maps depicting the preliminary range of alternatives and will be available to assist the public with questions.
The Moab Master Leasing Plan will provide the framework for future oil, gas, and potash leasing within the approximately 900,000-acre planning area, which includes portions of Grand and San Juan Counties. Since this planning effort was initiated, several important steps have been completed including finalizing an Analysis of the Management Situation Report, a Scoping Summary Report, Reasonable Foreseeable Development scenarios, a Socioeconomic Baseline Report, and developing preliminary alternatives.
The BLM accepted feedback from the public on the preliminary range of alternatives through May 28, 2014. This feedback will assist the BLM in finalizing the alternatives for development of the Draft Master Leasing Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (MLP/EIS). The BLM anticipates releasing the Draft MLP/EIS in fall 2014 with a formal public comment period to follow.
The open house will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on May 14 at the Grand Center, 185 North in Moab, Utah.
