The Cedar City BLM Fuels program is currently conducting a prescribed fire on the Greenville Bench. The Greenville Bench is located approximately five miles south of Beaver, Utah and directly west of the I-15 corridor.

 

As of June 20, 2007 1,448 acres have been treated by reinforcing containment lines with fire. Additional acreage gains are anticipated this fall when weather conditions will be optimal.

 

The Greenville Bench prescribed fire is designed to reduce fuel loads, decrease the risk of future high intensity wildfires and increase ecosystem diversity.
