Welcome to the Home Page for the Resource Management Plan for the Idaho BLM Cottonwood Field Office.
We invite you to join in this planning process. The September 3, 2004, Federal Register publication of the Notice of Intent to Prepare a Resource Management Plan (RMP) officially began our planning effort. We expect to complete our RMP in about three years. We are collaborating with the public to determine current resource conditions, need for changes in the management of these resources, and desired conditions for the public lands that the Field Office manages.
The Cottonwood Field Office covers
143,830 acres of
Bureau of Land Management (BLM)-administered
land in Latah, Clearwater, Nez Perce, Lewis, Idaho, and Adams Counties in north-central Idaho. Much of the BLM-administered land consists of scattered tracts, intermingled with State of Idaho, private, Nez Perce Tribe, and National Forest lands. Read more about the planning area here. Public uses of these lands include recreational boating, fishing, hunting, camping, off-highway vehicle driving, grazing, mining, and logging. The Cottonwood Field Office lands provide habitat for a variety of wildlife and fish, while playing an important role in providing clean water and air and protecting cultural resources. |
