The Bureau of Land Management respectfully requests that readers of the Manual of Surveying Instructions (2009) (Manual) report any errors found. Errors should be brought to the attention of the Bureau of Land Management Chief Cadastral Surveyor, by sending an email with the details to blmsurveymanual@blm.gov. Errata and related adjustments are posted here and can be viewed by date or chapter listings.

Bob Dahl and Jerry Broadus, PLS, Attorney at Law and author of Washington State Common Law of Surveys and Property Boundaries will present a joint seminar on the use of Mr. Broadus' book and the Manual in practical surveying situations. The presentation will concentrate on historical changes, both in the Federal and in Washington State surveying systems, as applied to subdividing fractional sections, at the Land Surveyors' Association of Washington (LSAW) Fall Seminar, in Tacoma, Washington, November 4, 2011.
