Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area encompasses Gunnison Gorge Wilderness, Flat Top-Peach Valley, and Gunnison River Recreation Area. Cutting a breathtaking double canyon through colorful sandstone formations and ancient black granite, the Gunnison River is known for its exceptional Class II-IV whitewater boating. The Gunnison Gorge boasts a world-class, blue ribbon trout fishery and visitors can also enjoy big-game hunting of elk and mule deer.
