Location: McCain Valley in eastern San Diego County, approximately 60 miles east of San Diego, near Boulevard, CA
Electricity Production Capacity: 186 megawatts
Company: Iberdrola Renewables, Inc.
Acreage: 12,239 acres of public lands
Status: Right of Way Grant issued April 10, 2012.
Electrical Transmission Connection: The project would deliver power through the project substation by a 138-kilovolt transmission line to run south to an interconnection with the proposed San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) Boulevard Substation.
Company's Expected Benefit: The project would produce enough electricity to power up to 65,000 homes
Public Comments
During the 70-day public review period, more than 200 comment letters were received on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (EIS/EIR). These comment letters and corresponding responses are presented chronologically and organized in the following categories:

Public Meetings and Hearings
The BLM and CPUC held two joint public informational workshop meetings on the project.
The meetings were held at the following dates, times and locations:
1/26/11, 7p.m., Jacumba Highland Center, 44681 Old Highway 80, Jacumba, CA
2/2/11, 7p.m., Boulevard Volunteer Fire Department, 39223 Highway 94, Boulevard, CA
Two scoping meetings were also held to solicit public comment on issues, concerns, potential impacts, alternatives, and mitigation measures to be considered in the preparation of the draft EIS/EIR.
