The EA analyzes alternative land management actions and forthcoming decisions that will provide progress toward achievement of the Standards for Rangeland Health and management objectives of the BLM Baker Resource Area Management Plan in the Pedro Mountain Geographic Unit located southeast of Baker City, in the Rye Valley area. The purpose of the EA is to analyze the environmental and socio-economic impacts of three different management alternatives, including continuation of current management, on ten allotments within the Pedro Mountain Geographic Unit that failed to meet Standard for Rangeland Health due to livestock grazing. BLM is taking comments on the EA through close of business on November 4, 2011.
Comments may be submitted in writing to the BLM Baker Field Office or submitted by email to: BLM_OR_BK_Mail@blm.gov. Please include "Comments on Pedro Mountain" on the subject line of your email so it will be forwarded properly within the field office.
