Opportunities abound for hikers, equestrians, and photographers to take in views of Mt. Shasta, Pilot Rock, Mt. McLoughlin, Hyatt Lake, and Howard Prairie Lake. This area's diverse plant life represents four distinct physiographic regions. Other features include Boccard Point, the Soda Mountain Wilderness, and the Hyatt Lake Recreation Site. This section of the trail ranges from easy to moderately challenging terrain, depending on the direction of travel.
