Posey Island, a one-acre marine camping park, is located minutes from Roche Harbor by sea kayak or small private boat. Visitors to the are attracted by the overall scenic beauty and diverse vistas of Haro Strait. Recreational activities include camping, sea kayaking, and watching waterfowl. Campsites are for the exclusive use of boaters arriving by human-or wind powered watercraft. The BLM cooperatively manages the area with the Washington State Parks. Posey Island campsites are available by reservation only. For more information, please visit on-line at www.parks.wa.gov/parks/region. Posey Island is very primitive there is no fresh water available on site. Access to Posey can be challenging due to the gravelly and shallow landing.

Posey Island is only accessible by water. The Roche Harbor Resort boat ramp, located on San Juan Island is the nearest launch site. Local launch fees apply.
