All of Salem District, east of Interstate 5 is closed to all open flames, fires and briquettes until further notice. Only propane cooking stoves are allowed. You may receive a citation for failure to comply with this fire closure. Check back regularly for updates posted to this website.

Dogwood Recreation Site, located at mile 18 along the Quartzville Back Country Byway, is open year round for day-use. The site has five picnicsites, vault toilet, and access to the Quartzville Creek Wild and Scenic River.

Directions:

From Sweet Home Oregon, head east on U.S. Highway 20 and approximately one mile out of town turn left on the Quartzville Access Road heading towards Green Peter Reservoir and Quartzville Creek. Dogwood is located on the right side of the road approximately 18 miles up Quartzville Road.
