Island Creek Day Use Area is a year-round recreation site which offers a variety of activities: picnicking, water play, fishing and recreational gold panning. The setting along the banks of Cow Creek and on the Cow Creek Back Country Byway offer visitors a scenic alternative to Interstate 5. Overnight camping is available at Skull Creek campground, approximately 20 miles further down the byway. The picnic area and restroom are relatively accessbile for people with disabilities, but the river access is not accessible to people who use wheelchairs.
