The BLM's proposed WOPR plan if implemented will manage the public's forest for the timber companies. Giving very little realistic consideration to the health of the forest or the recreating public. The proposed plan of clearcutting to 50 feet of some streams and then thin trees within that riparian zone offers little protection for animals including amphibians that rely on these area for cover, food etc.. Also, fish It is necessary to keep stream buffers in accordance with the Northwest Forest Plan. Logging on public land is necessary, but, needs to be done in a sustainable and responsible manner, I feel that none of the "Three Management Alternatives" of the WOPR accomplish this.
