Cary Jones 1625 Lorane Hwy Eugene, OR. 97405 carybj@aol.com BLM re:WORP To the folks at BLM. I hereby am informing you of my opinion on the WORP proposal. I feel that the increase in logging in this proposal would be very detrimental to many parts of the environment. Of particular concern to me it the reduction of the buffer zone around streams. I am a commercial salmon fisherman, and am very aware of the importance of a well maintained watershed to the survival of this very important resource. I take particular issue with a WORP proposal that would reduce the "no logging" buffer along fish-bearing streams by more than half, allowing cutting within 25 feet of stream banks. It is well known that this will increase the water temperature in the stream, for even less survival of the salmon, steelhead and trout. If anything, this buffer should be increased. Please do what you can to stop WORP. It should be re-written, to properly conserve what we now have of this great natural resource. Thank you, Cary Jones
