As someone who has both lived and worked in the Coast Range, I am very familiar with the state of the landscape on the Eugene BLM matrix. There is absolutely no subtlety to the devastation of private industry lands due to current logging practices. Anyone from a good vantage point, can easily pick out which land sections are public lands and which sections are public lands. It is imperative that we do not jeopardize our public lands by opening them up to increased logging and road building, and decreasing riparian corridors and endangered species consideration.  For the sake of our waterways, endangered species, and our children’s heritage, don’t undermine the Northwest Forest Plan, it has been our only hope on public lands for forest integrity. Give science, not dollars, a bigger voice during this, and future, decision-making processes. Forget WOPR.
