| Summary: BLM road #34-6-6 failed during heavy rains in January 2012. The BLM will repair 350 ft of this road and its drainage network as well as restore the adjacent riparian/aquatic habitat by removing landslide material. Work will occur during the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) In-Water Work period unless authorized with a waiver from ODFW. This work will be completed with use of the Revised Environmental Assessment for Aquatic and Riparian Habitat Enhancement (EA# DOI-BLM-OR-MOOO-2009-0004-EA June 2009). | |

| Summary: The Revised Environmental Assessment for Aquatic and Riparian Habitat Enhancement (EA# DOI-BLM-OR-MOOO-2009-0004-EA June 2009) states that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will complete projects with the aim to improve aquatic habitat through increased habitat complexity (EA, p. 6). The 2012 Crooks Creek Riparian Restoration Project would improve habitat in and adjacent to Crooks Creek by thinning dense understory trees and placing woody material in tributaries of Crooks Creek. Thinning would be accomplished by cutting trees less than 12 inches in diameter at breast height and retaining 50-60% canopy cover. Fuel hazard reduction would be accomplished through lop and scatter and handpiling/burning. | |
