Project: Tennessee Lime Landscape Management Project

Project Status: Planning Completed
Office Location: none
Resource Area: Grants Pass
NEPA #: EA # OR117-06-02  FONSI/Decision Record
Document Publish Date: 2/01/2013
Summary: The Grants Pass Field Manager has issued the third Decision Record for the Tennessee Lime Landscape Management Project. This Decision Record is proposing the treatment of 1,082 acres of fuels hazard reduction treatments in 46 units. The proposed activity is analyzed under the Tennessee Lime Landscape Management Project Environmental Assessment (LMP EA #OR 117-06-02). The Tennessee Lime Project Planning Area is on BLM lands outlying the community of Selma, Oregon. The legal description of the Planning Area is T38S-R8W-Sections 33, 35; T39S-R8W-Sections 1, 3, 5, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 29 in Josephine County, Willamette Meridian. Fuels hazard reduction treatments would be accomplished through a series of activities. Initial fuels reduction would be accomplished through forest thinning which greatly reduces the potential for surface fires transitioning to crown fires. Excess slash not removed as small timber, pole, or biomass maybe hand piled.
