The Vale District BLM proposes to construct approximately six miles of new fence and develop a spring and pipeline to protect and improve resource values important to wild horses, wildlife, special status plants, and a wilderness study area. The proposed action is generally located about three miles north of Leslie Gulch. The proposed action, which is planned within the Malheur Resource Area, has been analyzed in an environmental assessment (EA). Because of changes made to the February 2009 EA, the public comment period for this action will be re-opened for 30 days beginning August 3, 2009. If you wish to review and comment on the Leslie Gulch ACEC Project EA#: DOI-BLM-OR-V040-2009-005, a copy of the document is available at the front desk of the Vale Bureau of Land Management Office, 100 Oregon Street, Vale Oregon.
