Summary: The Vale District of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is conducting a gather of wild horses in the Barren Valley Complex Herd Management Areas (HMAs) in southeastern Oregon. To meet our obligations to you and to that of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), we have posted the required NEPA documentation, analyzing the environmental effects of this gather. Summary: The Vale District of the Bureau of Land Management is asking the public to review and comment on the Barren Valley Complex Herd Management Area Wild Horse Gather Plan and Environmental Assessment. The Environmental Assessment will provide you with further details of this gather. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to achieve the appropriate management level (AML) of wild horses on the range. If you would like to comment on this Environmental Assessment, please do so in writing. Address your comments to the Jordan Field Manager, Vale District BLM, 100 Oregon Street, Vale, OR 97918. To be considered, your comments must be received in this office by June 21, 2011.
