Eastern Washington and San Juan Resource Management Plan
Welcome to the website for development of the Eastern Washington and San Juan Resource Management Plan (RMP). We hope this website will help you stay up-to-date on the planning process and provide information about how you can be involved in the process. We appreciate your participation and look forward to continuing our work together.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District will be preparing an RMP and associated Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for 425,000 acres of public lands in Eastern Washington and the San Juan Archipelago in Washington State. The map on the right shows the boundaries of the planning area. Click on the map to view a larger detailed map.
The public scoping period for this planning process began April 30 and ran through July 12, 2010. During this period the BLM held six open house meetings, at various locations throughout the planning area, and received 134 comment letters and emails. The comment analysis process and results from scoping are discussed in the Scoping Report, recently added to the documents section of this website.
In addition, the BLM recently completed an analysis of the management situation (AMS) which describes the current status of lands, resources, uses, and management direction for the planning area. The AMS is also available in the documents section.
The Spokane District is currently developing and analyzing alternatives for the RMP/EIS.
