Dam Removal on the Sandy and Little Sandy Rivers
The Bureau of Land Management is working with Portland General Electric (PGE) to complete the removal of the Bull Run hydroelectric project, including dams on both the Sandy and Little Sandy Rivers. PGE completed decommissioning of Marmot Dam in the summer and fall of 2007 and the Little Sandy Dam in the fall of 2008. These removals open up important stretches of the Sandy and Little Sandy Rivers to salmon and steelhead migration.
