The Gunners Lakes Project proposes 508 acres of commercial thinning in 70-year old stands in the Matrix (GFMA and CON) and Riparian Reserve LUAs. The project also would also construct 1.3 miles of new temporary road, renovate 2.0 miles and improve 14 miles of existing road. All the new road construction, 1.6 miles of the road renovation and another 0.3 miles of existing road would be decommissioned at the end of the timber harvest activities. The commercial thinning is expected to be sold as two timber sales in 2010 and 2011.
