| Summary: Approximately 3,800 feet of new road (predominantly near ridge top locations) will be constructed. Following harvest, all of the new construction will be decommissioned and blocked to vehicular traffic. Density management treatments will occur on approximately 275 acres of 50 to 60 year old stands within LSR and RR LUAs through a timber sale. Approximately 40 percent of the project area will be harvested using conventional ground-based logging equipment, and approximately 60 percent will be harvested using skyline yarding systems. Within existing roads, rock application may occur and culvert replacement/installation will occur on approximately 19 ditch relief or stream crossings. Larger accumulations of debris along existing roads will be either machine piled or hand piled. All machine and hand piles will be burned. All design features and mitigation measures described in the EA (pp. 9-14) will be incorporated into the timber sale contract. | |
