These roads will be blocked and stabilized after harvest activities; 1 mile of road improvement; and 3 miles of road renovation. | Summary: 12/2009 Revised EA: December 2009 Update of the Gordon Creek Thinning EA: The Cascades Resource Area has revised the Gordon Creek EA to include an analysis on Carbon Storage and Climate Change. The project itself has not changed since the release of the March 2009 Revised EA. The Proposed Action is to thin approximately 1724 acres of which 1324 acres are within the GFMA Matrix and 400 acres are within the Riparian Reserve land use allocations. The project area is located within the Gordon Creek 6th field watershed, near the City of Corbett in Multnomah County, OR (T.1 S, R. 5 E, sections 1, 3, 9, 11, 13, 15). The Cascades Field Manager is accepting comments on the Carbon Storage and Climate Change sections of this EA. | |

| Summary: 03/2009 Revised EA: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published the Gordon Creek Thinning Environmental Assessment (EA# OR080-07-05) in September of 2007. It was available for public review until October 26, 2007. Comments received on the EA were reviewed and as a result, the Cascades Resource Area Field Manager decided to revise the Gordon Creek Thinning EA. The purpose of this revision is to incorporate changes to the proposed action and update the description of the alternatives, affected environment, and environmental effects as a result of further field work and in response to the comments received on the original EA. The revised proposed Action is to thin approximately 1724 acres of which 1324 acres are within the GFMA Matrix and 400 acres are within the Riparian Reserve land use allocations.
