Summary: The Cascades Resource Area Field Manager has made a decision to thin approximately 221 acres of 56 to 48 year old forest stands including 3 low density thinning patches. Connected actions include road construction, decommissioning and renovation of existing roads, and pile burning activities. The Evans Mountain Thinning Timber Sale consists of 4 units of the proposed action detailed in the Evans Mountain Thinning Environmental Assessment. The EA and Finding of No Significant Impact were released for comments from September 25th, 2013 to November, 12th 2013. Summary: The Cascades Resource Area has completed the Evans Mountain Environmental Analysis and Finding of No Significant Impact (EA). This EA is available for review. The EA analyzes a commercial thinning proposal near Stayton, Oregon for 252 acres of commercial thinning with additional road management and forest fuels management connected actions. The project area is located in T8S, R3E, sections 24 and 25, and in T8S, R4E sections 29 and 30, WM.
