Summary: The Cascades Resource Area Field Manager has made a decision to issue a Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Lease to Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to continue managing BLM-administered lands adjacent to Silver Falls State Park for recreation and administrative purposes for the next 25 years. The three parcels of BLM-administered lands are located in T8S, R1E sections 3 and 35, and T8S, R2E section 31. An EA for the proposed lease lands was completed and made available for public review.

Summary: The BLM proposes to issue a Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Lease to Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for three parcels (244 acres) of BLM-administered lands adjacent to Silver Falls State Park. Silver Falls State Park will manage these lands in compliance with the 2009 Silver Falls State Park Master Plan and the Salem District Resource Management Plan (August 2009 located at http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/PLANS/masterplans_complete.shtml.) Summary: Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) has applied to BLM for a Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Lease that would allow 244 acres of BLM land to be managed by Silver Falls State Park (Silver Falls). The 244 acres is within the Cascades Resource Area, and had been under previous 25 year R&PP leases with Silver Falls since 1981. The park would like to continue to manage these parcels as part of their overall management strategy documented in the Silver Falls State Park Master Plan (August 2009 located at http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/PLANS/masterplans_complete.shtml.)
