| Summary: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has conducted an environmental analysis for the North Fork Alsea Access Road Hazard Tree Removal and Road Maintenance Project, which is documented in the North Fork Alsea Access Road Hazard Tree Removal and Road Maintenance Environmental Assessment (EA, # OR080-07-01) and the associated project file. The Proposed Action of the North Fork Alsea Access Road Hazard Tree Removal and Road Maintenance Project EA is to remove hazard trees which are generally located within 25 feet of road edges, within Late Successional Reserve and Riparian Reserve Land Use Allocations (LUA's). The project will utilize a commercial timber sale to remove trees adjacent to the North Fork Access Road #12-8-19, 13-8-12.1 and 13-7-10. A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) was signed on June 7, 2007 and the EA and FONSI were then made available for public review. The decision documented in this Decision Rationale (DR) is based on the analysis documented in the EA. This decision authorizes the implementation of only those activities directly related to and included within the timber sale. | |
